The beads above are made w/ a hard to find glass- Z-99 Purple Rose Special. The Zimmerman family has stopped production and decided not to sell their glass recipes to the industry. It is a wonderful and reactive color, these beads were made on a base of Effetre White- yep, just white- w/ various frits and powders added.Not to worry, I'm still in love w/ making my organic hollows. Here is a set that hasn't been etched yet:

I couldn't help but wonder if the Zimmerman family you mentioned is from Indiana. Over the holidays I had the pleasure of visiting Zimmerman Glass in Corydon and was able to try working with glass for the first time. I know the son well enough to ask if there is a reserve stash somewhere for you - if it is the same family.
Kimberly, I don't think it is the same place that makes the color( I could be wrong but I think it's in Europe)- they may be a relation though? Never hurts to ask, they may have some interesting stories :)
